“And the men who hold high places must be the ones who start” … the opening line to Closer to the Heart, by Rush, the world’s greatest band according to Tedd.  This was the song that turned him on to them when he was just 5 years old.  Tedd is a lifelong music fan.  He began playing trumpet at the age of 10, but at 17 he picked up a guitar for the first time and never looked back. At 21, he began playing professionally in bars and has found very few thrills on the same level as live music.

His biggest influences are 70’s progressive rock bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, and Frank Zappa.  Also, Sabbath, Bowie, Blue Oyster Cult, and T. Rex have made a lasting impression from that era. In a more modern sense, Kings X, Periphery, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Kendrick Lamar have often been playing.

Tedd plays music from many different genres.  With Copper Reign he plays classic rock, with his recording project Void Voyager he plays progressive space metal, and on his own he plays a bit of classical and jazz to boot.  Recently Tedd has begun working on adding synthesizer to the normal songs live and trying to focus on singing a little more.   In his free time, Tedd has recorded several EPs by himself and worked on producing them.  His career highlights have been playing all over the country and visiting new places in the name of music.

Tedd, is also an avid movie watcher, sci-fi reader, comic collector, and board game player.
